I’m a barber, mentor, entrepreneur, and man of God—committed to purpose, excellence, and impact.
After 20 years in corporate America as an IT professional, I walked away from what looked like success to pursue what felt like purpose. In 2017, I bet on myself and fully committed to the craft I first discovered at 14—cutting hair in my basement with a pair of clippers and a vision I didn’t yet understand.
What started as a necessity became a calling.
Through faith, mentorship, and persistence, I built The BeVel Barber Lounge into more than a barbershop—it’s a space centered on excellence, confidence, and community. From navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic to opening and scaling locations in Kansas City, every step has been rooted in growth and purpose.
Today, The BeVel is a platform for mentorship, opportunity, and elevated grooming—offering premium services while developing the next generation of professionals.

Hey there! I’m Jewel Jackson, and I’m a professional barber. Senior Stylist for Kansas City Fashion Week. I’ve always had a passion for helping people look and feel their best. I used to work in construction, and I even had a stint at a jewelry store, but my true calling was to become a barber.
I remember when my dad asked me to cut his hair one day. That’s when I realized I had a knack for it. I prayed to God for guidance, and he blessed me with these hands that can work wonders on people’s hair. Whether it’s cutting hair or fitting someone for a custom suit, I love making people feel good about themselves.
My style is all about good vibes, laughter, and style. I’m grateful for the gifts God has given me, and I’m excited to share them with you!

Alicia holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and earned her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Human Resources Management. Her passion lies in ensuring that BeVel hires and retains the best people, creating an exclusive experience for our valued customers.
